Armour was born out of the emotion of vulnerability, the feeling of needing to safe guard our emotions by putting up layers of protective armour.

This armour is heavy
I don’t know how long I can hold this weight
It’s all covered in buttons
only a matter a time before they detonate

my fists clenched tight
my knuckles stone white
you can see a harsh glare in my eyes
even this armour cannot hide

I’m ready to fight
I’m ready to fight

This movie plays in my mind
of you and of I
Explosive tempers and smouldering rage
masks a deep feeling of pain

And I’m ready to fight
And I’m ready to fight
And I’m ready to fight
you tonight
tonight, tonight, tonight

I’ll tear off this armour
you’ll see my wounds
I’ll forgive myself
before I forgive you
I’ll open my hands
to love and to trust
My heart will heal
cause I know I’m enough

I will end this fight
I will end this fight
I will end this fight
I will end this fight
tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight.
